Restoration at Home

Elsa (pictured above) arrived at one of the AJS-supported Gideon Centers, quite burdened. She sought counseling for her son Mariano who presented several behavioral problems. Mariano was aggressive at home and school, and he disobeyed his parents and refused to do homework. In meeting with Mariano and his parents, the Gideon project discovered that Elsa and her husband were going through a difficult time that was affecting their children, especially Mariano.

Elsa and her husband Mauricio received counseling and reached agreements for improving their relationship. Both were willing to change patterns of communication, respect, understanding and team-work. Communication improved in the family, and Mariano has become less aggressive and performed better in school.

Also, as a result of the improvement in their relationship, Elsa and Mauricio decided to marry after living together for eleven years!

Thanks to the continuing support of the AJS-supported Gideon project, Elsa and the rest of her family were able to experience God's reconciliation and restoration.
